Clean voice recordings for podcasts, video, interviews and more
Noise Remover is for anyone whose recording carries a voice worth hearing: podcasters, video creators and voice-over artists first, and journalists, researchers, students and professionals too. Each page below covers one situation: how to record it, how to clean it on an Android phone, and what the app cannot fix.
Podcasts
Clean each speaker’s track on your phone, level it to −16 LUFS and export it for your editor or your hosting service.
Learn moreVoice-over and narration
Remove hiss, room tone and hum from narration while keeping your timbre natural, then level it and export it for your edit.
Learn moreInterviews
Clean interviews recorded in the street or in a room: voices that take turns stay intact, and nothing leaves your phone.
Learn moreLectures and meetings
Clean long recordings of lectures, meetings and dictations before you listen again or transcribe them.
Learn moreVoice messages
Share a voice note from WhatsApp, Telegram or your recorder, get it back without the background noise, and send it on.
Learn moreFour steps, whatever you record
Every use case goes through the same short flow in Noise Remover. What changes from one to the next is the way you record, the settings that matter and the limits to watch for.
- Bring the audio in
Record in the app, import an audio file, pick a video, or share a file from another app: a voice note, a recorder, your gallery. Every format it opens is listed on the features page.
- Let it clean
Cleaning starts on its own, on the phone, with the default settings: 80% intensity, loudness normalization and the 80 Hz low-cut filter.
- Compare and adjust
Switch between Original and Cleaned at the same moment, move the intensity slider if the voice sounds processed, and trim the start and the end.
- Export and share
Export a file with no watermark (M4A by default, or WAV, MP3 or, on Android 10 or later, Opus), then share it to any app or save it to your phone. Every cleaning stays in History, ready to reopen, adjust and export again.
The same flow cleans the soundtrack of a video: only the sound is processed, never the picture.
Why on-device cleaning matters for personal recordings
An interview with a source, a meeting about a client, a lecture, a message to your family: much of what people record is not meant for anyone else. Noise Remover cleans it on the phone itself, and it works in airplane mode.
- No upload. The app has no server to send audio to, so a recording is never handed to an online service to be cleaned.
- No account. Nothing ties your recordings to a name or an e-mail address.
- Kept on the phone. Your cleanings, originals and exports alike, stay in the app’s storage, excluded from cloud backup, until you delete them.
What does leave the phone (ads in the free version, usage statistics and crash reports) never contains audio. The privacy policy lists each of them.
What every use case has in common: one voice at a time
The engine inside Noise Remover is RNNoise, Xiph.Org’s open-source neural network for speech. It keeps what sounds like a voice and turns down everything else. That is why one voice over fans, hum, traffic, wind or keyboard clicks comes out clean, and why the app cannot pick one voice out of several talking at once.
- Works well: one person speaking, and interviews or meetings where people take turns.
- Works poorly: voices talking over each other, a café full of chatter, background music or TV.
- Not removed: room echo. Record closer to the voice, or in a softer room. See echo or background noise?
Frequently asked questions
Which recordings does Noise Remover clean well?
Noise Remover cleans one voice at a time over background noise: fans and air conditioning, electrical hum, hiss, traffic, wind, rain and keyboard clicks. That covers podcasts, voice-overs, interviews where people take turns, lectures, meetings, voice notes and the sound of videos. It is not made for music or for several people talking at once, and it does not remove room echo.
Is Noise Remover only for content creators?
No. It is designed around creators (podcasts, YouTube, TikTok and Reels, voice-over), but the same flow serves journalists cleaning an interview, researchers with field recordings, students with lectures, professionals with meetings and dictations, and anyone with a noisy voice note. There is no profile to choose: you bring the audio in, and Noise Remover cleans it.
Can I clean long recordings, such as a full episode or a lecture?
On the free plan, Noise Remover cleans the first 3 minutes of each file, 3 files a day, with ads. Watching an optional video cleans one file up to 15 minutes. Pro removes the length limit, the daily limit and the ads; plans and prices are shown in the app. Free exports have no watermark and the same quality as Pro.
Do I need an internet connection to clean a recording?
No. Noise Remover cleans on your phone and works in airplane mode: the noise removal, the loudness measurement and the export all run on the device. A connection only serves what surrounds the cleaning, such as ads in the free version or checking a Pro purchase. Your audio is never uploaded.
